Use Cases

There are various use cases for our Digid solutions.
Here are a few we selected for you.

fraud prevention
Digid's solution verifies the identity of a user, and not whether that user just has the correct credentials, thereby making virtually impossible to commit fraud. Digid's secure onboarding process includes phone/email verification, biometrics, liveness checks, device and location signals, document verification, and historical transaction history (reputation) to ensure that only legitimate users are granted access.

Even if fraudsters try to intercept an SMS OTP or obtain necessary information through phishing, Digid's layered security checks will detect and prevent any fraudulent activity. Ongoing authentication involves verifying possession of a private key on the user's device that is securely stored in hardware (DID authentication) and is cryptographically linked to their identity.

eliminate false declines
One of the most frustrating events for anybody using their own credit card in a legitimate manner, is that the transaction be denied because the security systems consider it to be high risk. It's the ultimate case of the solution being much worse than the problem.

With Digid, False Declines are eliminated because once the user is identified in real-time, the transaction can proceed with no further problem or delay. Because Digid's confidence in the confirmation of the identity is so high, there's no further need to add all the current risk measuring algorithms that frequently produce false declines. end account takeovers
Because Digid can verify a known identity of a user it becomes nearly impossible to attempt to takeover an account. Digid uses various methods of security, starting with secure onboarding that includes phone/email verification, biometrics, liveness checks, device and location signals, document verification, and historical transaction history (reputation) to verify user identities.

Even if a hacker were to intercept an SMS OTP (ie. SIM swap), or simply phish the necessary information on the internet to claim to be a valid user, Digid would not trust the claim given the aforementioned layered security checks. Ongoing authentication includes verifying possession of a private key on a user’s device that is stored in secure hardware (DID authentication) and is cryptographically linked to their identity. Only a valid user in possession of the device with the correct key can access the service making it extremely difficult to takeover the account.

customer data privacy
Digid does not store any PII, but instead builds Verifiable Credentials that can share the minimal data required to satisfy 3rd party identity verification requests.

Through selective disclosure, claims can be validated instantly such as age verification, citizenship, verifiable income levels, and other data points without revealing the full identity or any PII about a user.

lower customer friction
With Digid onboarding can be faster and safer through the use of verifiable credentials, and during events that require authentication and identity verification the user may not have to do anything at all, or simply provide a biometric that is validated with their private key.

Much faster, safer, and better user experience than entering passwords, one-time passcodes, and remembering difficult security questions!
